Doug Feldman sent an MP3 of a rare Bacharach recording, Keely Smith’s 1970 (original?) recording of “One Less Bell to Answer.”
Ice Magazine reports that 20th Century Masters/The Millennium Collection (A&M) will be released on July 20 and the long-awaited Promises, Promises original cast recording reissue will be released on Aug.
3. These come on the heels of the The Look of Love: Classic Love Songs of Burt Bacharach(Hip-O), which was released on June 1, and The Reel Burt Bacharach (Hip-O), which was released on June 22.
And in some exciting news, a corespondent wrote to inform us that Burt will headline a free concert in New York at Coney Island’s Seaside Park on Thursday, July 29. The show is part of the 21st annual Seaside Concert Series, a series of free summer concerts at the park that is coordinated through the office of New York state Senator Marty Markowitz with the help of corporate donations.
