Burt Bacharach has announced five dates in Brazil next year. Bacharach will perform at the Teatro Positivo in Curitiba on April 11, the Teatro Do Sesi in Porto Alegre on April 13, Credicard Hall in Sao Paolo on April 15 and 16, and Citibank Hall in Rio de Janiero on April 18.
Judging from the number of email queries I receive, Brazil is home to one of Burt’s largest fan bases, so I’m sure fans there are celebrating the news of Burt’s long-awaited return visit to the country.

G-d bless Mr. Bacharach, his talent and his determination to make the worl a better place. His music is an integral part of my life. So many great compositions, many of them not at all well known. What a prolific and versatile man. “I couldn’t love and admire him very much more,” as Marlene Dietrich used to say on her shows. I just got three tickets for his (and his band’s) performances in Rio.
