I am trying to find the SATB arrangement of Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head from the 70’s. I had it in my choral library but a choral director that followed me found it not to his liking and threw it out. Any suggestions on how I might find a copy of the SATB arrangement. My community chorale is planning “An Afternoon at the Movies” and would like to include the SATB arrangement.
Thank you,

Hello there. I would appreciate it very much if you could ask Mr. Bacharach to please listen to my website for a moment and if he has any interest, to contact me.
I have been a huge fan of his for many, many years. He is wonderful.
I appreciate your time.

Burt, my wife and I are having a discussion about “I say a little prayer”. In the middle section of the version by Dionne Warwick, there is a trumpet instrumental part, which is joined with a duet instrumental. This duet part sounds to me like an oboe sounding wind instrument. My wife says that it is Dionne’s voice along with the trumpet. Can you tell us who is right? Thank you sir, Jacques Pirak.
Dear Burt,
My family and I were so looking forward to see you at the Sydney Opera House in March 2010.
I just visited the Sydney Symphony site and noticed you have to reschedule due to back surgery.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for a successful recovery – Get Well Soon.
We will all wait for you as long as it takes and would not miss you for the world.
Please take care.
Kind Regards,
Karen – Australia.
Dear Mr. Bacharach,
I saw on the internet news pages where you had been
in hospital for surgery for your back. I just wanted you to
know we are thinking of you with our prayerful hope for your
speedy recovery!
I was the guy at Florida Junior College at Jacksonville back
in the 70’s who used your music exclusively on our radio network programming for public affairs on some nine local
Jax radio stations. Your’s and Mr. David’s “All Kinds of People” was my theme on most of my shows for about 6 years. Music from “The Lost Horizon” were also used such as
“Living Together” as they fit our mission of reaching out to
those who needed a new life via educational opportunities.
I believe it was after that decade that you started to tour
colleges more regularly including ours (now FSCJ) but unfortunately I could not attend. Milt Russos had remembered my great desire to invite you to Jacksonville and
you came a couple of times I believe.
I hope you remember this, and the article The Hollywood Reporter put in an issue about how a Florida College was favoring your music, despite box office dips for “Lost Horizon”, by Hal Bacon? Your music has always been like
therapy and medicine for most of us during the sixties and
right on until today. Be well and please let me hear from you. I would love to have a photo from you with all the above history. I am retired now on disability with spinal stenosis, degenerative disease myself. The World Still Needs
Your Loving Music, man. Keep it coming.
Respectfully,
Chuck De Lettre

i am a gifted songwriter and i’ve always loved Burt Bacharach’s gift of music to everybody. i pray that he would allow me to send him a few songs so that i can begin to be the person i truly am(a professional songwriter)by sending my songs to the proper parties or artists who will record them. i am a better person today because God created Burt Bacharach who inspires me to be compassionate to other’s needs and wants. Dear Burt,
I’ve tried for years to get a copy of your 1973 version of Lost Horizon. Every time I check on places like Amazon.com, it says that it is no longer available. Is it possible to purchase this DVD anywhere? I lived among the Chinese people myself for several years when I was younger, and this film brings back fond memories. And besides the beautiful film set and retelling of the story, the music in this movie is some of the most beautiful I’ve ever heard.
Please answer back when it is convenient.
Thank you,
DL Moody
Burt,
Your music is inspirational and touched many . I love all your songs such as “Hey little girl” and “Alfie” . Wishing you all the best and I hope you come to Japan one day soon as I would love to see you in concert.
Best Regards,
Michael
I don’t care what the reviewers said. I really liked “Lost Horizon” and the soundtrack is wonderful! The introduction still gives me goosebumps.

Dear Burt,
While I am writing these lines, I am at work, early morning, listening to favourite music, through my iPHONE.
Among others, “this guy’s in love with you”.
And it so happened I was in the mood some minutes ago and I recorded my sort of “cover”, right here on the spot, through the “voice memo” tool.
I would be so very honoured if your Assistant could drop me an e-mail address, so I can forward this very draft and amateur recording to you.
I am at the age of 43, father of 3 and raised with so many different musical listenings (thanks to my father)…listenings that I am very fond of singing along with, loud, whenever I have the time and the mood (it is quite often I may add)…
Anyway, I wish to add that your work, all these years, has been very inspirational for me and very comforting, soothing and joyful and has filled my life and spirit with these well known, non tangible, yet essential elements and attributes that make one’s soul richer.
Take care and thanks for being there.

Dear Mr. Bucharach
I am a 65 years old Swiss with a lot of ideas about what I still can do for the rest of my life.
Since the end of the 1960s I am a fan of your music. By listening your music I play some pieces if yours on the piano – more or less correctly, but with a lot of enthusiasm. Today I have seen in the internet that you have given a concert in the Netherlands last year.
Will you come again to Europe this year? I would like to visit a concert of yours and if possible to meet you for a short moment with making a photograph and also if possible having a short talk with you in an coffee shop or a restaurant.
For your early reply I thank you very much.
Kind regards.
Kurt Bornhauser
Dear Burt,
I am probably one of your greatest fans in the world. I have loved your music since I was like 4 and I am 46 now. I would like to implore you to get “Lost Horizon” released officially on DVD. There are many people in fact who would love to see this happen. I had heard there was a roadshow print in tact if I am not mistaken. Any help you could give me would be much appreciated.
I have also been in contact with Jill O’Hara. She told me about the tribute she was doing in New York this year. She has become a good email friend and we have been in touch a few times. She is a lovely woman and a great singer too.
Thanks,
Brad Saiontz

Dear Burt,
I have seen you perform many times; with Dionne and Carol; actually went to a private party in honor of you and Carol after your performance at the Sands in Atlantic City many years ago! When all of my college friends were listening to Jefferson Airplane, etc., I was listening to Reach Out and drooling over your album cover!! Will always remember your TV special (about 1968). I think you were wearing a black polo shirt and you were gorgeous!!!! (Still are…..)I will always be a devoted fan. I love watching you conduct. There is no one like you!!! I would love to see you again on the East Coast. Get well soon.
With admiration, Sharon Farrell

Dear Friends,
I am a professional singer in desperate need of ” A House Is Not A Home”an instrumental soundtrack in Dionne Warwicks key . I cannot find it anywhere for sale.
I perform alot around town without a live band. Please guide me in the right direction that may lead me to this production.
Thank you Graciously,
Annette
Burt, My girlfriend and I were going to see you at WPB but you hurt your back. We hope you are ok and hope you come back to South Florida so we can can see you. Get well soon we are huge fans and are really sad we missed you in January.
Mr. Bacharach,
First of all, I am a big fan and have been for decades. My father, Roy Glover, Jr was also a big fan of yours. He is the person that first turned me on to your music by giving me a compilation of songs by you and Hal David. Anyway, I am a vocal music teacher now, and I am looking for a three part arrangement of The World is a Circle. I was hoping to not have to reinvent the wheel and arrange one myself. Please advise.

Hello-
First, I hope for a speedy recovery for Mr. Bacharach.
I am writing because my grandfather Bill Kelly grew up across the street from Burt in Forest Hills and had always told us that he played his tenor sax with “Happy” in a large jazz ensemble when they were young. He always noted these as some of the best and most inspiring times in his life.
He has since passed away, and I am trying to collect any information about any musical endeavors that he undertook before my time. He always admired Mr. Bacharach, and I am hoping that he remembers my grandfather too- he was a wonderful man.
Dear,
I was surprised to discover that there is a town in Germany called “Bacharach”.
Perhaps the inhabitants of the town of “Bacharach” don’t know the importance of our great Master Burt “Bacharach”.
If they knew, would perhaps a tribute to Master Burt!

Dear Mr Bacharach:
I just found this site and read of your recent surgery. I will pray you are on your way to a full and speedy recovery and tinkling the ivories very soon.
I’ve been a Bacharach fan since the Warwick days and wish to take this opportunity to THANK YOU for years of beautiful, lovely music. Many of my pleasant memories growing up are surrounded by your music. I even loved (and can still sing) your Martinni & Rossi jingle. In the movie, “My Best Friends Wedding” my favorite part is when the all sing “I Say a Little Prayer” which happens to be my favorite song of all time. I can go on and on about what each one of your songs means to me and what memories they are connected to in my life but suffice to say, that if your songs played such an important part in one person’s life, they must have been damn good songs. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful gift with the world and hope to see you in concert one day.
Mary G
I have many of your song books. “Promises, Promises” is vibrant, exciting. The music to “Butch Cassidy” is fun. “Lost Horizon” is emotional. The harmonic progressions are unique – don’t see them in other music. The use of dominant 7ths with added 9ths and 11ths is rich and creative. Meter changes are interesting. Can you comment on some of your ideas on music theory. Your music enriched my growing up and still gives me pleasure.
Thanks

greetings from Sweden-I would like to remind the swedish people of your music
so the other day I contacted Swedish Radio .They seemed interested and to-day I will have a call/contact and of corse I will ask them to make any
program in the future about your wonderful music.
I wonder if you are planning any conserts in Scandinavia ?
I will listen to “What the world needs now” and I hope Swedish Radio will
fulfill my desire this week. It is a global text which goes directly to the heart!beleave me.
Burt, one quick question, if I may: were you by any chance responsible for the arrangement of Eddie Fisher’s 1955 hit “(I’m Always Hearing) Wedding Bells”? The strings/chorus figure on the introduction and the second and third verses, the third and fourth bars of the middle eight, the slightly unexpected key change and trumpet solo; these all sound to these eardrums like pure Bacharach!
I bought the record on a 78 here in England when I was aged 8. The 78 soon got broken, but I came across the recording again on an LP some 50 years later, by which time I had become familiar with (and a big fan of) your work, particularly with Dionne Warwick in the 1960s, and started to recognise some of your trademark harmonic touches. A particular favourite is “Dont Say I Didn’t Tell You So”, with that delicious chord – is it a D15th? – that the song keeps returning to.
With very best wishes,
Andy Sharp

Olá,
Sou brasileira e gostaria de saber se está programada a vinda de Burt ao Brasil. Adoro suas músicas e gostaria muito de assistir seu show.
Hi Burt, I hope your recovery from back surgery is on track . I am a 56 year old Security guard here in Melbourne Australia. I’ve written a song lyric and I was wondering if you could help me get a tune to it. It’s a ballad, a simple, somewhat repetitive song that has an addictive side to it so that after the song is over it still lingers in your mind. I would appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks. Regards Phil.
p.s get well soon.

Dear Burt,
I’m listening to NPR and I am just so happy to be listening to you and Hal. You two have no idea how much you have been in my life with my husband of 37 years.
I was just in HS when I met a guy with a piano. I loved Dionne Warwick and the odd timing in your songs drew me in.
I bought a Bachrach/David Songbook, thinking my new guy would just be able to play your stuff. Well…not so true. He had to work on them. THEN, the music didn’t match your recordings, so I had him rewrite them while I paced it out!
To this day, when he plays A House is Not a Home for me, it makes me cry.
It wasn’t the most popular choice for a teenager, but my two favorite albums were one of yours and Stan Getz’s Desafinado.
You have SO enriched our lives. Thank you.
Burt
Happy birthday – hope you’ll be up an about soon! Look forward to seeing you in Sydney again.
Happy Birthday, Burt!
When you return in Italy?
Feliz Aniversário!
Que sua estrela continue a brilhar por muitos e muitos anos!
Burt,
I have loved you since my mother bought Dionne Warwick’s first album, I was 10 years old, I am 56 and still love you and your music. I used to send you letters to get to meet you. I still lull myself to sleep many nights by the sound of your music. Many of my romantic moments were played out by your music. I had a dream that I finally got to meet you and I got to a chance to kiss you. That was the best dream I had in a long time. I heard you had surgery on your back. You are always in my prayers and thoughts and I hope you a speedy recovery. Come back to Michigan again. I want to see you in person, maybe this time I will get to meet you for real.
Anche se con ritardo (sono stato fuori sede per ben tre mesi) Ti aguguro, mio grande “Maestro”, che tu possa continuare a contare gli anni fin quando tu lo voglia e mi auguro tanti, tanti, tanti.
Buon compleanno Burt.
You are one of the greatest Burt! I would like to record and perform”Alfie” on a future project. How can I accomplished that and how can I get a great composer like you to produce it.
Dear Mr. Bacharach,
I am writing this to merely express my gratitude for your rediculous songs. I am an 18 year old soon to be college student and a lover of sports. A vast majority of the people who know me know me for athletics. In other words, i am not the type to listen to your music. However, I feel that this speaks to how versatile it is. It shouldn’t matter who is listening, because anyone with a heart can connect with your timeless works. Please get better, because while the world definately needs love, we also need you Burt
A fan and admirer,
Grant Gaither
Dear Burt & staff,
Much appreciate your music, especially the self-arranged/produced instrumentals from the 1960s and 1970s that play continually on my mp3 player when I’ve had to much of Mozart, Zappa, Steely Dan, Frank Sinatra et al. It intrigued me not little that former Zappa drummer Vinnie Colaiuta plays on At This Time – what sensibility, what touch!
However, I’m always interested in all the fine players that contribute to recordings and I wonder if there’s a book or data base with this information on the Bacharach recordings.
At this very moment I wonder who’s playing the terricif bass (what a clean and inspired part!) on I Say a Little Prayer for You from the Reach Out album.
Best regards

Dear Burt, your music has been in my household since when I could remember. I do praise your gift of music over the year and it continues do get better. I happened to watch John Pagano on a CBS Christmas special in 2004. I loved he version of “Go ask Shakespeare.” I’ve been looking for a version with him singing. I love Rufus but sometime and rarely do I like someone else’s version other than the original. Was there ever a recording with John? Would love to have it.
Continue creating great music
I have been wondering for 47 years now who that kid was who is singing in “Saturday Sunshine” (summer of 1963)? At least the age and gender. Thank you.
