Dear Mr. Burt Bachrach,
I am brazilian and live many years already im Portugal.
Somewhere between my 12th and 14th's I heard your music for the first time. The film Lost Horizon and your music was a big event in my teneager life. I wish my daughters could today experience the same happines and sweetness by listening to music like yours. Now I am 54 and I still listen to your music in Youtube and feel the same sweetness when I was 14. I don't know how many times I have already listened to your "The Look of Love" with Ron Isley in Youtube, just because I can't find the CD. Thank you Mr. Burt from the deepest of my heart, for so many hours of happy feelings, great music and lirics filled with emotions. God bless you and your talent. Linete PS- When do you come to Portugal for a concert ?? Thanks.

I am a big fan of Burt and I opened a Facebook fan page called, Burt Bacharach: A Tribute To A Great American Composer exactly a year ago today. Just would like to inform you that the fan page had 3,402 page views, up 426% 12/09/2011 - 11/10/2011

I love Burt's songs and of course adore him as an artist and person. May he live another 30 years!

Dear Burt,

Have you ever considered a collaboration with neil hannon?
I am betting that it would be an instant classic record.

First, I reiterate my congratulations to Master Burt Bacharach for his 83 years of life. Life and a lot of life in their wonderful songs and more to come.
I would love if Mr. Burt and Ivan Lins recorded a CD together, like what happened with Elvis Costello and Ronan Keating.

Sincerely,

Djalma Junior

Caro Burt, gli anni passano ma le leggende non invecchiano.
Sei il più grande genio musicale di ogni tempo.
Buon compleanno!
P.S. : il 5 luglio sarò a Lucca a vedere il tuo concerto, non vedo l'ora.

I was thirteen when my family and I first saw Casino Royale at a drive-in theater. My mother had died a month or so before. When the title song blasted out of the speaker it put back a spark into my life and the score remains one of my favorites to this day. Two years later I was alone with my grandmother in a theater watching Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, bewildered and yet very much delighted that such exciting music would work with a western. Please excuse my French but fuck John Ford. The musical score he chose for The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance is now all but forgotten while Gene Pitney from my home state of Connecticut made the song resonate through the years. I have always wondered why the song was never used. I've been on Facebook putting Youtube videos of your songs on my home page for my enjoyment of course and to remind my many FB friends of your seemingly boundless genious which has touched us all without us even knowing who the song's composer was. The older I get the more I appreciate the beauty of the body your work. I can never repay you for having made my life so much richer so I will just say thank you and God bless you.

I have been searching for the sheet music to the original "Casino Royale", as played by Herb Alpert with no success. Is it available and where can I find it?
