Nikki Bacharach
January 8th, 2007
My sincere condolences go out to Burt Bacharach and Angie Dickinson on the death of their daughter, Nikki Bacharach. Nikki, who suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome, a form of autism, committed suicide in Beverly Hills on Jan. 4. “She was one of the most beautiful creatures created on this earth,” said Bacharach and Dickinson in a statement, “and she is now in the white light, at peace.”
Nikki loved animals and had a special love for cats and kittens. A fund has been created in her memory to rescue impounded cats and care for them until they can be adopted. Donations can be made in Nikki’s honor to the Lange Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3, and all donations are tax deductible. The Lange Foundation’s non-profit ID number is 95-4407687.
Condolences can be sent to:

Burt was notified of Nikki’s death at a Los Angeles hospital, where he was recuperating from shoulder surgery in the wake of a fall he suffered on Dec. 24 while walking his dog. Bacharach has canceled his upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand as well as a Feb. 25 appearance at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. According to his spokesperson, the prognosis for Burt’s full recovery is excellent and a new date for the Disney concert will be announced shortly.
