Re: R.I.P. ... Vincent Cole
Oh, this is just horrible, horrible news. Vincent was one of the finest, generous and most wonderful person I have ever known. Vincent and I played golf together on various occasions and it was always a distinct pleasure being in his company. And needless to say, Burt's music was ALWAYS playing in h...

Bonjour Blue & An Enormous BB Fan! Glad that the both of you like this extended version! As B.J. Thomas would say’ “Long Ago Tomorrow”. I haven’t heard from the both of you in a while! Hope all is good! By the way, Josie James sang this song in San Diego a few years ago. She did a wonderful job! Ye...

Re: Dionnw Warwick are you there with another girl (extended verizon)
Fantastic!! Now... would someone please tell me how this extended version was created. mosogotam has done tons of other extended versions as well. How does he do it? I mean, does he create them himself? Or are they already created at the original recording session -- and he has access to them? Or do...

Re: On My Own: sublime or turkey
Also, a great song, blue. The intro alone pulls you right in. Burt's genius for composing such original and wonderful music will always astound me. Especially when you listen to the total shit that songwriters(?) get away with now.

Re: On My Own: sublime or turkey
OMG! It's one of my all-time favorites -- of Burt's or anyone's. I put it -- musically speaking -- on the level of pop genius. I will never tire of listening to it. If it weren't a #1 song for Michael and Patti, then it certainly was close. A monster hit song, I would say.

Maybe Burt should have named his dog "Kentucky Fried Chicken" -- 'cuz they're finger-lickin' good!

Re: Most complex Bacharach song ever
You're right, I would have picked "Promises, Promises." Does "South American Getaway" qualify as a song? I don't think so, even though it is sung, albeit in "scat." "Anyone Who Had A Heart," I think, is pretty complex. Didn't Burt say that even the Count Basie Orchestra had a problem with it? "Alfie...

Re: Dionne's Concert at Bethesda Blues and Jazz Club- March 1, 2017
Dionne (or any star of her stature) was totally correct in demanding that no food be served while she was performing. I believe that this is a common demand. And Dionne was right to walk off, too, until respect was paid. I can't believe that they would even THINK of serving food and taking glasses a...

Brief interview with Burt and Carole. OMG was it really 31 yrs ago ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sCOBvi0M20 'blue' I guess so -- 3 decades in an instant! Knowing now what Carole really thought of Burt puts this video into a different perspective. It looks to me that Carole is really ticked off...
