Hello Blue! "Through the Eyes of a Needle", just like the other Bacharach & David track, "Everyone Needs Someone to Love" were recorded by Cliff in New York, in 1965 (for his album "Love is Forever"), produced by Bob Morgan (Bobby Vinton's producer) and they were ar...

Re: What the world Needs Now Abraham Martin & John

Hi Nicko! Yes, I remember it on the AM radio back in mid 1971. According to Joel Whitburn's book "TOP POP SINGLES 1955-1996", Tom Clay was a DJ at KGBS in Los Angeles when he created this recording. The single peaked at # 8 in Billboard magazine and at # 7 on both Cash Box and Record World...

Re: "Only Love Can Break a Heart" on the country charts

Hi "Blue" Thank you for the link. Bobby Vinton's version reached #99 (in 1977) on the Billboard's Hot 100 singles charts and stayed there for only two weeks. Checking my chart books again, another artist, named Kenny Dale, also had a top 10 hit (on the Country charts) with "Only Love ...

"Only Love Can Break a Heart" on the country charts

Reading Burt's book "Anyone Who Had a Heart", I got a little surprised when Burt says he "always wondered why nobody has ever cut "Only Love Can Break a Heart" again, particularly a country artist". In fact, country/pop singer Sonny James (who had a number one hit with ...

Re: Waltzes

Hi Hank,
You mentioned George Michael's "Cowboys and Angels" and I couldn't help thinking of a song from that same early 90's period by British singer/songwriter Nicky Holland and a song she wrote with Lloyd Cole called "Lady Killer".
Take care,
Helcio

Peggy Lee's "My Rock and Foundation"

Hi there! I was browsing the "Collector's Choice Music" site and noticed that some of Burt's songs recorded by Peggy Lee are now available on a couple of CDs. "There's Always Something There To Remind Me", "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head" and the rare "My Rock A...

Hello Rio,
You're right ! "Clube Da Esquina" is a Brazilian classic !
Antonio Carlos Jobim also recorded "O Trem Azul" in two different versions, one sung in Portuguese and the other in English.
Take care

Thank you "Blue"

Thanks "Blue" for posting this great video.
I totally agree with you. And also, what amazes me is Ronald's voice.
It's pretty much intact after all these years in business.
Congratulations for both of them on this project.
