Dionne and Sir Terry Wogan at the Savoy, London

Dionne is in London on the 28th to head up Sir Terry Wogan's high profile 'Children In need Concert' at the Savoy Theatre to be recorded live on BBC 2 radio. 'Is There Anybody Out There' is out there on the playlists to promote the song and the concert on the airways! It's sounding good!

Re: Listen to Dionne's New Single

Roberto this is such a horrible version of this fantastic song. It's absolute proof that a Burt Bacharach/Hal David song needs Dionne Warwick to sing it, to add the required gravitas, or else it sounds like awful wallpaper music.

Re: Hal David Tribute with Burt, Stevie, Elvis, Jackie...

One last shot .. how come Elvis Costello has got into the act with his terrible voice and ghastly stage presence? What was Burt doing? Sinister the way he has manoevered himself into the final curtain.

Re: Hal David Tribute with Burt, Stevie, Elvis, Jackie...

Hey BachtoBacharach .. one thing, I'm UK based but I have friends in LA and New York, San Francisco who DON'T see Dionne letting herself down in any way at all. I've asked them and showed them your reviews and they don't get it. Just love her songs.

Re: Hal David Tribute with Burt, Stevie, Elvis, Jackie...

Sorry! I think my previous comment was aimed at maestrofan. Please look at Dionne's schedule etc and why should she cancel everything and run to a half baked memorial concert like this absolutely cluttered with any artist who wants to jump on the band wagon simpering over the glories of Hal who half...

Re: Hal David Tribute with Burt, Stevie, Elvis, Jackie...

Thank you Back to Bacharach! You only have to look at her touring schedule ... which has been like that for years .. to see she has no instant availability. Despite what you say GerVorbei, with all due respect, NONE of the artists you mention get anywhere Dionne's interpretations of Bacharach/David ...

Re: Listen to Dionne's New Single

Thank you BacktoBacharach. It makes for upsetting reading I must say but hard to understand why such a huge backlash for what seem to be relatively 'minor' occurances in the scheme of things. Many artists get led astray and do crazy things!! Maybe that's from my British perspective? There was virtua...

Re: Updated Release Dates For "Now"

I know BachtoBacharach I have always been a very staunch supporter of Dionne's recording career and as a result I think I was expecting more of a 'concept' album ... I think that's the word? One in which the songs and sounds sort of hold together .. such as her early recordings or even some of the A...

Re: Updated Release Dates For "Now"

Hi Bruce ... you are right, those three songs you mentioned on Dionne Warwick's new album 'Now' will not be 'new' recordings. This has been announced on her official facebook post. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest as it indicates what may have been a 'gem' of an up to date 50th anniversary album ...

Re: Updated Release Dates For "Now"

Hi Bruce! Unless I read it wrong I was under the impression that all the songs on now would be newly recorded. As much as I love the original recordings, like you, I have them all and feel they would contrast badly to the new sound we have had a hint of on the new release 'Always Something There To ...

Re: Dionne Outtake From 'One Amazing Night'

This is completely amazing! I can't believe I've not heard it before. An absolutely stunning performance. It's Dionne at her best for me. Thank you so much for posting it. Dionne said that Luther Vandross had the definative performance of this song but she was being kind. This is most definately it.

Re: Dionne Warwick ...... "NOW"

We never mention 'Aquarela Do Brasil' or the great Legends 3 CD box put out by Sony/BMG with the best Arista year's songs ... brilliant stuff. Starting with 'I'll Never Love This Way Again' and ending 52 songs later with Sting's 'Fragile'.

Bravo Ron!! My sentiments entirely. I love her concerts and to this day sit there in the stalls with goosebumps prior to her unannounced arrival on stage!
