SOME LOVERS - SOME LOVERS - SOME LOVERS - SOME LOVERS - SOME LOVERS - SOME LOVERS - SOME LOVERS 1) First review I know of: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/dec/08/play-review-lovers-has-a-muted-beauty/ Related to it: 2) I really wish I knew Tunick's role. Maybe someone could help clarify this...

Videos in which Burt is praised by music artists - here?
If this seems interesting, how about one for praises mentioned in writing also? I do believe that would be worthwhile too. I'd be very interested in what you'd add and I'd do my (very limited) best to help. These collections could amount to our own little tribute, perhaps? Marvin Hamlish http://www....

Re: any news about "Gift of the Magi"
I'm saying a little prayer for this:

Go BURT!!! You're past "legendary" now.
I just hope the critics have at least one scintila of knowledge and sensibilty to appreciate how huge an event like this is.

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
Talking about parents, movies, and powerful scenes with music... My dad invited me to watch this movie in bed, between him and my mom. It was being shown after midnight on TV. They both fell asleep, but I didn't know that; I couldn't bring myself to look at them, as I was extremely embarrassed. The ...

(Kidding reference to the other thread on the subject.) Do we need anyone to validate what we thin...

A meaningful (even more so, now) award
Congatulations to Burt and Hal!
In my judgement, they, together with George and Ira, are the best songwriters ever.
Burt is still very underrated as an arranger. Best ever, IMHO.

Yes, indeed. Thanks so much, Vincent.
Congratulations to John. I really like his singing.

Re: Clip from On the Flip Side
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TmOcgO9Fnc (Vincent mentioned this one) 0:47 and 1:38 : nice touches. Does this drumbeat take place on what is called the downbeat? This ability to sense whether you should go for the downbeat, if that's what it is, or for the emphasis on the las silable of a phrase i...

Re: "Go With Love" and "Who Is Going to Love Me"
Kudos from me to all the above. Who is Gonna Love Me is one of my very favorites. It seems like you couldn't add or remove anything from that arrangement and not commit a crime, and that it had to be Dionne too. One thing that I consider a sign of greatness is when someone is admired for something (...

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
My guess is that it is a very underrated song, and yet it is not among my favorite among Burt's. Was I'm A Better Man written for Engelbert? How about these other two? Nothing In This World - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLtpIA1hd5g (album is from 2001) - was it you, blue, who directed us to this ...
