Re: Burt in Rome - 28/10/08

I discussed this with my daughter and it raised a few interesting points: Burt tries to get a feel for his audience and to understand where he wants to go with the feel of the performance, and he is brave enough and sensitive enough and trusts his instincts (which have been developed and fine-tuned ...

Re: Josie James on Youtube singing Anyone Who had a Heart

And of course, it took the entire BBC symphony orchestra to replace the gracious miss Eliza James... I spoke to her in LA as she was on her way to the airport to get to Milan.... it's going to be great, really great... wish I were going. anyone at Heathrow about 2-5pm looking at a gorgeous (but tire...

The Show in Montreal to be broadcast

The Montreal Show, yesterday, was by all accounts that I have another superb performance. It will be broadcast on CBC in about two weeks, so you can listen to it in Canada (eh?) or via the internet . The QVC show ( If I had checked the home page first I would have known it was common knowledge... ne...

Re: so, is it easy to write a song?

John Updike, the author, has a quote about writing novels: "It's easy to write, you just stare at a blank sheet of paper and concentrate until you begin to sweat blood". It may be easy to write a song, but to write a good song, not so and to write a good song that doesn't plagiarize, consc...

Re: Burt Bacharach's Beginnings

Anyone think it might happen...

Since Hal David and Burt have appeared on stage recently, what do you think the odds are they'll start writing together. Do you think that they coulod possibly meet our collective expectations. On the other hand, for the general public there are probably not many people with high expectations. Just ...
