Re: Obscure songs of the 60s and 70s Bacharach fans might like

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsEz42Du7kI Joyce Alexander " here i come" . The artist and recording seem to have western roots(Socal) but has a northern soul vibe to it. I just love how genteel songs of the 60s sound no matter what they are singing about. Is a catchy song about taking so...

Obscure songs of the 60s and 70s Bacharach fans might like

I remember back in 2002 when my parents, my brother and I went on our late summer trip before school started back and my dad was playing the greatest hits of Dionne Warwick ironically it was the first season of American Idol and they had a Bacharach medley. I cant explain it but something about that...

Re: Rare Bacharach songs from the 60s/70s

I love all of the early Burt songs! I don‘t know how Burt himself would feel about this tune but I love it and it always gives me a smile. Campy and catchy! Love the jumpy arrangement. From 1956, Sherry Parsons sings “Peggy‘s In The Pantry“. https://moochinaboutltd.bandcamp.com/track/peggys-in-the-...

Re: Im obsessed with Brenda Reid from The Exciters voice!!

Hi All, Oh, I love her! Brenda‘s voice is electrifying and she is just the sweetest person EVER! Yes, I love The Exciters on “It‘s Love That Really Counts“. All of their records are fantastic and one that just came to mind is a song The Exciters did for The RCA Victor label in 1968 entitled “Take O...

Does Hal David have any competition as king of Brill Building lyricists?

There are alot of caveats to this question first off is whether or not Laura Nyro is included as a Brill Building songwriter and whether she would be considered a lyricist. I want to note if she is included then she is hands down the best songwriter/lyricist ever(not composer/arranger) in the Brill ...

Re: Rare Bacharach songs from the 60s/70s

Its hard for me to know if this is truly rare or not but I first heard it like 15 yrs ago. I was still living with my parents at the time so I was able to ask them if they had ever heard of it and my dad who prides himself on being a music aficianado of his time said he had not. Both Dionne Warwick ...

Bacharach songs with no Bacharach elements in them

So we have looked at other composers producing in a Bacharach style but every now and then Bacharach has composed songs that are void of all the typicall nuances and idiosynacracies we have come to know and love. Needless to say they likely wont be at the top of the list of many Bacharach fans. I of...

Wow never heard this. Never heard of it. Sounds like Hal squeezed this out in 5 minutes. I appreciate anything new I can hear of the maestro tho.
