Davide, Greetings! Thank you for the info. I know Burt has (in earlier days) arranged music for artists he was working with that he did not write. (ex. JAne Morgan-Ask Me To Dance - Marlene Dietrich-Where Have All The FLowers Gone, etc.) What I didn't know was that he recorded a 45 single written by ...

I used to check out the one from our local library...perhaps you could do that or get an "inter-library" loan (this is where your library orders it for you from a bigger library)...then photocopy what you want? You probably could also order it from the publisher.."Tams Witmark" o...

You ask who else recorded the lyric version of "Etta's Theme"(Come Touch the Sun)besides the SAndpipers.

Well, this is the first time I've ever replied to myself...lol
it's really an addendum..
I ask.."and how much would this 45 be worth, if someone found it?"

guess I'll jump in here....I find the Geico commercials very much fun... and despite the critisicm of Charro being too much hoochy coochie, she still looks incredible....Little Richard has made one as well....It's all amusing, and Burt is funny as well......that's the bottom line for me..don't care ...

Calling all Bacharach Song Experts

Hi,
I'm wondering about an obscure 45 RPM record made by the Burt Bacharach Oechestra in the early 60's on Big Top records - entitled Brigette Bardot.
Anyone ever heard this ditty? I'm guessing it's an instrumental.

Dusty-Sexiest Female Singer for Ballads

Hi, Watched and heard a commercial last nite on tv....can't remember the product..but it was showing down shots from a helicopter to the streets below in Manhattan, in between the buildings... Featured was a voice that sounded familiar...I kept listening, amazed at the vocal...The song was "Wha...

Listening to Jill O'Hara Sing Promises

Listening to the recording provided from a link on this forum, I listened to The main song "Promises Promises" from the play of the same name voiced by Jill O'Hara... The Backround arrangement is "basically" the same as the one on the Cast Album that Mr. Orbach sang...with a few ...

Mark, I do seem to remember reading that Burt said he "hated" Love's version of his song. However, I do recall the sounds going down at that time in the mid 60's, and listening to Burt's version on Kapp...well it wasn't the hippest version we've ever heard... I guess that is the bane or th...

Enormous, George N. Terry had a fine ear for music. As far as his relationship with Burt, I don't know...I'm pretty sure he was working for the music publisher. I do remember reading that George's involvement with music goes way back to the big band era...I also remember reading that George N. Terry...

Steve, In the case of the Promises Broadway score, Burt did bring his original 4 line sketches with him to the orchestrator Johnathan Tunick, so Tunick worked off of those....embellishing, etc...so one might say it was "based on" Burt's arrangements"... Of course on a 4 line sketch, t...

Brilliant arranging on some mid 60's hits

Been thinking about some of the British artists who did some of Burt's big hits in the mid sixties... Listening to these records, one is "fooled" by the thought that Burt himself arranged these...but so integral to the songs are Burt's arrangements...the arrangers chosen did a brilliant jo...
