Re: Doesn't America like Burt?

Hey Vincent, just a word for Mozart: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=CfC1bzr5Ezc
Lang Lang filling the Royal Albert Hall (5700 or so, seats) for Mozart....

There are certain composers who are for all of time, and there are those of their own time. I believe Burt's music will survive the test of time.

Re: Doesn't America like Burt?

It seems to me that the class acts that remain are largely boosted by the casinos, which offer tickets through their affinity programs. This is why you will see Burt at places like the Mohegan Sun. He does do more traditional venues than a certain other writer I won't mention here ;-) Burt has alway...

You see, when you are super fit, you bounce back from injury.

Re: Olympics Music

Let's not forget Ivan Lins https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=XyqSZvg4XAM Burt's music is smooth and sophisticated and has a link to Brazil through Darius Milhaud (I do go on a lot about him) who consciously used Brazilian folk songs in his compositions. So Brazilian music has a soul mate in Burt, and he...

Only because he made no secret at the belly up bar... slipped on a Sandy step going down to the beach... I won't release private information. He did play the show with a broken arm

Burt's injury

It's in the news, but still, Burt's arm injury is a major downer for his legion of fans... if he just wasn't so active, he wouldn't get these injuries... if he wasn't so active, we wouldn't have so many chances to see him live. So, prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery and a great autumn and wint...

And consider this https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qggFTFHiy7Q
Ward Swingle interpreting Bach, and now

Burt showing Ward how it's done in South American Getaway.
It all goes back to the "Well Tempered Clavier"

Re: Burt's classical music inspirations

So take a look at this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BD0-uT6X0HY
Arranged for the piano, it could be by Ravel, or one of his students (except Vaughan Williams), or by Richard Rodney Bennett. If you go to Burt's arrangement, it is pure Bacharach and a delight.

Re: Burt's classical music inspirations

For your musical enjoyment: le boeuf Sur le to it by Darius Milhaud. ...the bull on the roof by the man who taught Burt and Dave Brubeck.... it's hilarious.
