Burt's shoulder surgery

According the Los Angeles Times dated today, Feb. 7th, Mr. Bacharach has had to postpone his February 25th concert at the Walt Disney Hall, the "Songbook" concert due to his having shoulder surgery. We all sure wish him well with his recovery. The concert has been rescheduled for June 5th.

Steveo, Thank you for the kind words on behalf of both Artie Butler (that man must be some kind of a genius!) and the very much missed Nick De Caro. Both worked so hard to create musical settings that brought out the the best of the vocalists they worked with, with glorious musical arrangements that...

Super arranger-conductor Artie Butler arranged one of the best versions, I think, of "Close to You" for Ken Berry and a most wonderful version of "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" for Mark Lindsay. Artie Butler, great arranger-conductor! Then, there's Nick De Caro's sensitive, beau...

For all the joy Burt Bacharach has brought to the world with his gifts, may the joy and special memories of his beautiful daughter, Nikki, carry him, Ms. Angie Dickinson and his family through this most difficult time... "Where the time is always just today."

re: BB concert

Hi Bernie, The info I have is that Burt Bacharch will be performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on Feb. 25th at 7:30 with no intermission. He will be performing with a "few" select string players from the LA Philharmonic Orchestra and NOT with the full LA Philharmonic Orchestra. I unde...

"Here I Am" promo sampler

On the vinyl promo sampler of "Here I Am" one side has instrumental versions of 4 songs from the "Isley Meets Bacharach" CD. Does anyone know if there are any additional instrumental tracks from that CD that would be availabe on any format? Those 4 instrumental versions are great...

Yes it is!

Hi Keith, I just listened to your link and yes it seems like your version is the same as the one I have on the promontional copy. In an email I just received it seems that Burt Bacharach recorded the entire score, just his vocals and a piano, at Columbia Studios, which Shawn Phillips, Liv Ullman, Pe...

promo Lost Horizon

Thank you for all your replies. The version on this blue colored vinyl is Mr. Bacharach with only a piano to accompany him. It is different from the one on the Something Big album. There is no orchestration, just a piano and his voice. I just received an email from author Serene Dominic that this pa...

Promo of "Lost Horizon"

I just purchased a promotional copy of the soundtrack to "Lost Horizon" with the same songs as the original, with one exception. Instead of Shawn Phillips singing the title song, Burt Bacharach with only a piano, sings the title song. This version is NOT the same one that is on the "L...
