I always loved since I was teen the great icons of the Brasilian music in the sixties: Jobim, Vinicius de Moraes, Joao Gilberto, Toquinho and the
group that was leading me to Burt, Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66. Do you
remember? The cover of 'The Look of Love' by Mendes was number 4 on 1968 in US charts. It was for me the beginning to discover Burt and his music. I first bought Reach out, followed by Make it easy, and so on..until now Painted from memory...I never left him. By the way, Burt himself said that Brasilian music had a great influence in his career since he was touring in Brasil with Marlene. Last year Dionne told us during a concert she is now living part of her life in Brasil where she find inspiration.
Can you imagine what kind of bright cocktail could come out if one day
Burt would write something like this? Is it pure madness only to think about? What's your opinion?
Take care.
