It's time for Mr. Bacharach to come back to broadway with a new musical.
Promises Promises is a classic.
It's just been too long.
Can some one please explain to me why this has not happened yet?

If you saw the A&E Biography 2 years ago on Burt, you will understand why he doesn't want to do Broadway again. Burt said, "It just drove me crazy"!
You can purchase this DVD from A&E Biography. It has also Dionne Warwick, Leiber & Stoller, Bobby Darin & The Hitmakers. It's a great walk down history from the 50's & 60's!

We didn't make clear why Burt was driven crazy. It has to do with the fact that the band changed often and his music isn't the easiest to play so what he would listen by the subs was too far removed from what he had in mind. If you read or saw "The Fountainhead" by Aind Rand (with Gary Cooper in the movie) you will undertand the kind of effect this lack of respect for an artist's ouvre can do to a person.
