Happy first day of Fall.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I haven’t had much news in the pipeline as of late. I’m hoping to get an updated tour itinerary in the next few days, so keep an eye out for that. Does anyone have any info on Burt Bacharach In Concert? A sealed copy of the LP recently went for $38 on eBay. It was the first time that I’ve seen it for sale anywhere. How rare is it?

Two recent releases, both on Sept. 21, worth mentioning are Bill Frisell’s The Sweetest Punch: Songs of Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach (Decca) and The Instrumental Side of Burt Bacharach (Varese Sarabande), a release I know nothing about (there are no tracks listed on its Amazon page).

Also, I picked up a songbook titled “Famous Songs by Bacharach and David,” which–title notwithstanding–features a treasure trove of rare compositions, many of which are unfamiliar to me. I’ll try to post lyrics in the near future, but among the selections are such obscure numbers as “And This Is Mine,” “Anonymous Phone Call,” “The Breaking Point,” “Country Music Holliday,” “Don’t Count the Days,” “Dont Envy Me,” “Faker, Faker,” “Forever Yours I Remain,” “The Hangman,” “I Fell in Love with your Picture,” “In Times Like These,” “It Seemed So Right Last Night,” “the Last Time I Saw My Heart,” “Love Lessons,” “Make Room for the Joy,” “Moon Man,” “The Net,” “Oh Wendy Wendy,” “Oooh My Love,’ “Peggy’s in the Pantry,” “Presents from the Past,” “Saturday Night in Tiajuana,” “Say Goodbye,” “Sittin in a Tree House,” “Somebody Else’s Sweetheart,” “That Kind of Woman,” “Warm and Tender,” “Underneath the Overpass,” “Winter Warm, “With Open Arms,” “Wonderful to be Young” and “You’re Telling our Secrets.”
