Tour of Japan canceled due to coronavirus outbreak

Just received official word that Burt’s tour of Japan, which was set to begin on April 1, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. No word yet on if or when they will  be rescheduled. As always, check out the On Tour pages for the latest official news on Burt’s live performance schedule.

Joining the illustrious list now is Melody Federer, a Seattle-based singer-songwriter who co-wrote the just-released “Bridges” with Bacharach.

Kritzerland releases London cast recording of Promises, Promises

The great boutique label Krizerland has announced an encore release of its long-out-of-print London cast recording of Promises, Promises, Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s much loved 1968 Broadway musical. The London production, which opened at the Prince of Wales Theatre in 1969, features Tony Roberts, Betty Buckley and Jack Kruschen reprising his role as Dr. Dreyfuss from the musical’s source, the 1961 Billy Wilder film The Apartment. It’s been out of print on CD since Kritzerland’s original pressing of 1,000 sold out.

This encore version of the London cast album is being released in a limited run of 300 CDs, so if you missed out 10 years ago, don’t delay.

Burt Bacharach Among Inaugural Acts for Japan’s Billboard Live Yokohama

INTERNATIONAL Hanshin Contents Link Corporation, the master licensee of the Billboard brand in Japan, is set to debut its third venue in Yokohama this spring, and announced the inaugural lineup for the 300-seat club and restaurant. “Nights weaving history and tradition” is the theme of Billboard Live YOKOHAMA, opening its doors April 12 in the Kitanaka area.
