"I Took My Strength From You"
I'm curious about something and wondering if anyone has more information on this: In Robin Platts' book about Bacharach/David, he mentions that Dionne recorded "I Took My Strength From You" in sessions with Burt in '74. It mentions her going back into the studio recording three songs with ...

Re: Where Was Ms. Warwick??
I was also surprised that Dionne wasn't on the Celebrity Apprentice finale show. Regardless of how well any of the celebrities did, all them came back (except for Jose Canseco who left the show early due to his father's illness). Even NeNe Leakes, who walked out in a huff, came back for the finale. ...

Re: Celebrity Apprentice (with Dionne)
I was a bit surprised that Dionne was the one to exit "Celebrity Apprentice" this week for leaving early when her job was done. I can see the teamwork aspect of all the ladies hanging around for the editing, but it looked like the end of a long day and Dionne had finished her part. She did...

Re: Celebrity Apprentice (with Dionne)
First of all, I'm a reality show skeptic and think these shows are orchestrated for a certain outcome ---- controversy, high ratings, etc. Each celebrity brings a certain role to play in the mix. and each is out to WIN, no matter what. I think the "surprise" is that we've all known Dionne'...

Re: Wonderful video of DW doing Alfie last weekend in Amsterdam
When you think about how many times Dionne has sung this song in her concerts, I was impressed that she found yet another way to inhabit that wonderful tune. To me, she is amazing!

Re: Kennedy Center Honorees
Sorry, I did overlook RICHARD RODGERS, who was in the first group of honorees in 1978. OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN, however, died in 1960, well before the Kennedy Center Honors were initiated.

Re: Kennedy Center Honorees
To get a perspective on the Kennedy Center Honors, I checked on their website to see who has actually been honored in both popular songwriting and popular female singers since the inception of the honors in the late 70's. Here are the past honorees who are songwriters (some are both singer/songwrite...

Re: Dionne's most impressive vocals: Scepter and Arista
So many to choose from, but I'll offer these in terms of impressive vocal performance: Scepter: "Go With Love/You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling/The Beginning of Loneliness/You're My World/Loneliness Remembers". Arista: "Love Doesn't Live Here Anymore/Yours/When The World Runs Out of Lov...
