My apologies if this info has already been posted here, but I did a search and couldn't find it.
YouTube now has a posting of Burt's 48-minute interview at the Library of Congress titled "Burt Bacharach on Composing".
Best wishes,
Dennis Webb

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
Here's a performance of "You'll Never Get to Heaven" by Darlene Love. The arrangement sounds pretty much like Burt's, but I wonder whether Phil Specter had any hand in it. (I can't hear any castanets, at any rate.) It's a nice performance and gives a chance to hear DL display her vocal tal...

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
Here's a link (but not YouTube) I just discovered. It's a one-hour concert by Dusty Springfield at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The video is good resolution and sound recording excellent. I'm watching it now as I'm typing. Looks and sounds great. http://www.classicaltv.com/v1132/popular-music/du...

Just Couldn't Help It
This YouTube link has nothing to do with Burt. I accidentally ran across it a few weeks ago, and it was like a voice from the past that I barely remembered. It's such a gem that I just can't help wanting to share it. When you hear it, I think you'll understand why I had to post this. The strings, ca...

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
I notice that the album cover for "On the Flip Side" says that Peter Matz did the arranging and conducting, but I can't believe that dance number arrangement that's on the video clip is by anyone but Burt, especially the brass.

Blue,
Thanks a million for that clip. And it's in such good shape. I've only heard the songs but never seen any of the video itself. Joanie can really sing! And the arrangements are sooooo 1960s Bacharach. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now if only someone would release it on DVD.

Re: Just Wondering (Trivia)
In my previous posting I'd forgotten that Del Shannon recorded the Bacharach/Hilliard song "The Answer to Everything".

Re: Just Wondering (Trivia)
Originally, I was just thinking of Dionne Warwick's recordings, of which I think there are very few without piano. But to expand a bit, how about Gene McDaniel's "Tower of Strength" from the early 1960s? The only copy of that song I have is the one in my head, and I can't find a piano ther...

Just Wondering (Trivia)
I've always felt that the piano part of the arrangement is the most fundamental and characteristic part of Burt's arrangements, and for me the piano has always been central to his work. So it occurred to me tonight to try to think of a Burt song that does not use a piano at all. I can only think of ...

Dusty Springfield Videos
This website has a page where people can upload videos of Dusty Springfield performances. There is some interesting material here, including commercials she made before she was a star. Take a look at the video of Dusty and Mireille Mathieu singing "The Look of Love". It's introduced by Bur...

I Wish I'd Never Loved You
I discovered this song on an old Dusty Springfield LP years ago and I was sure its authors were trying to co-opt Burt's musical language. It has finally turned up on YouTube. See what you think. It's one of Dusty's best recordings, in my view.

This just appeared on YouTube a few days ago. Rick Nelson & Joanie Sommers singing "Try to See it My Way" from " On the Flip Side."
