"Dionne" on CD

The album "Dionne" is out on CD. It's an Ambassador Soul Classics release from 2005. This album is a real gem, with a beautifully balanced range of emotions running through it. I'm happy to see there are so many fans of "I Just Have to Breathe" - it's hard to beat for beauty and ...

Wonderful photo

Thanks for that link, gabba. The text is a bit overripe, but the photo is incredibly handsome. In some of the ATT reviews recently there have been some digs at Bacharach's looks - I think we should all be so lucky to look so good at any age.

I just have to breathe

I've been searching in vain for some time now for sheet music to "I Just Have to Breathe" (piano/vocal). Any ideas?

Many thanks,
Elizabeth

Bacharach DVD/VHS

There is a very touching DVD of the Royal Albert Hall tribute concert called "A Tribute to Burt Bacharach and Hal David" (2000). Also a fabulous video in the "Sessions at West 54th" series, with Bacharach and Costello performing songs from Painted from Memory and others (1998). E...

Re: I couldn't believe it

I recommend the Carly Simon album. It's so nice to have new, meaningful Christmas music - it seems like a hard genre to navigate. The album is mixed, in my opinion, but the track with Bacharach was such a happy surprise. If you haven't bought the CD yet, Enormous BB fan, you'll be glad to hear that ...

Golden rule lyrics

I associate the song very much with the movie "Alfie", whose title character is a heartless cad who bulldozes over others' feelings. I hear the singer asking Alfie if, as he seems to believe, life belongs only to strong people like him ('strong' meaning 'not given to sappy emotionality' - ...

Hello Larsy, You're lucky to have such an interesting topic for a paper - I hope you enjoy working on it. I had the impression from your post that you thought Burt Bacharach had written the lyrics. They are Hal David's lyrics - Bacharach wrote the brilliant music. I hope that helps you. On a more co...
