http://www.ansa.it/ansalatinabr/notizie/fdg/200902181639339045/200902181639339045.html This story says Burt wrote one song and arranged and produced another, Come in Ogni Ora, for Karima's new album. Also mentions the fact that he doesn't understand italian, but the emotion of the singers do reach h...

Re: New Bacharach song
From what I gather the singers listed at the end of this post were competing among themselves in a "Best New Talent" (or the like -- someone correct me if I'm wrong) competion, and Arisa won the 1st prize. (Arisa: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ppf4dmdDSA&feature=related) My understan...

Re: Other quotations that might apply to BB?
After reading about how Russell Davies appears to perceive Bacharach's work, I went to listen to the program and read about his past as a caricaturist. All this reminded me of that aforism by Oscar Wilde: "Caricature is the tribute mediocrity pays to genius." In my judgement, it applies to...

Re: New Bacharach song
Enormous, that video was being uploaded as I searched for it... Thanks so much. I wrote there: Burt Bacharach: what a treasure of civilization... Kudos, Mr. Bacharach, for finding and working with people who can share the joy of playing and singing your music, as these wonderfully talented musicians...

http://jbonline.terra.com.br/pextra/2009/03/07/e070320235.asp I can hardly type due to a serious injury on my left hand, but perhaps someone else can help translate from Portuguese parts of this very interesting interview with Burt for an online edition of a Rio newspaper. Mentions song with Elvis f...

Re: Berklee honors Burt
I'm a big Enourmous fan, but I totally disagree with him on this Kennedy Center thing.
IMO, the time to care about this is long gone; the neglect now only reflects on the award.

Unpaid reviews by users of commercial sites
A review I wrote 9 years ago (in 1999!) for Amazon. So many people say Burt's music is uplifting. It sure can be. But the beauty of many of his works can move me deeply. I find a sadness in so much of what he wrote. Would you copy and paste here (or provide a link to) reviews of Burts works that you...

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)
There was a video on YouTube that showed, as sequence to this Bette Midler video (part of a BB Special),
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XkTfOMDINQ
Burt playing Beethoven with an orchestra. Does anyone recall this? Are you able to find it on YouTube?
