Like the song and both interpretations Blair! …… I've recently become more appreciative of Randy Crawford's talent. … Thanks for posting!

Jerry: Wishing you and all our fellow forum participants the same as we embark upon another year! …… In addition to our continuing discussions on what we already appreciate - we have a lot of "new stuff" to look forward to: Bacharach's new work with Costello on the "Painted from Memor...

Re: "Plastic City" ...(another) Dionne gem !
"blue" Another shining example of "WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN" during those Warner Brothers years if Burt, Hal & Dionne had continued to work together under the terms of their contractual agreement. Although Hal did not provide the lyrics for this and the other 2 Bacharach cuts on ...

Re: Hal David
… Too bad that Hal never (at least none that I'm aware of) made a cameo concert appearance with Burt or Dionne! …. His vocals along with Burt's would have resulted in a standing ovation! ….. Although I've met and spent time with Burt and Dionne - never had the pleasure of meeting Hal.

Re: Will There Be a Successor to At This Time?
Blair & Blue: Hopefully someone out there will back such a project(s). The Snow White, Costello, and Some Lovers material along with so much of the vocal material dating back to the 70's - and even earlier - would make for some potentially great orchestral recordings. ……. Very few artists are rec...

Re: Will There Be a Successor to At This Time?
Blair: I'm not aware of any leaks from "Bacharach-land" regarding another orchestral studio album; however, there is a lot of material composed back in the 70's and later that would be perfectly suitable for such a project. For starters - think of the great potential orchestral arrangement...

Re: The `74 Bacharach/Warwick recordings
Downtown: As far as I'm concerned "And Then You Know What He Did" is Dionne's "crowning achievement" during her 70's stint at Warner Brothers. Her phrasing is impeccable. ... Probably far too sophisticated for release as a single. .... From a lyrical standpoint - it sounds like t...

Although I enjoyed much of what Jean Terrell brought to the post "Diana Ross - Supremes" - I think Jimmy pushed her beyond her limits on this song. .... IT IS EASY to imagine how Dionne could have nailed it!

Re: The `74 Bacharach/Warwick recordings
Blair - "You Beat Me To The Punch" - My copy of "WE NEED TO GO BACK - THE UNISSUED WARNER BROS. MASTERS" arrived on Thursday and as with most recordings - I had to listen to it 4 or 5 times before commenting .......... Dionne was at the top of her game when recording these 19 son...
