Re: Johnny Mathis Warm and Tender
Noticing all the covers of Warm and Thender, I see that Orchestra leader LeRoy Holmes did a verison of it back in the day...He did it on an ep, as well as The B side to a 45 single(MGM K12460)

Re: Johnny Mathis Warm and Tender
Sara I do her a momentary tritone in bar one of the vocal,(or bar 2 if you are doing cut time) but it is merely a side stepping procedure to the next note forming a 4th....almost an ornamental note. It was kind of "jazzy" lol regarding the Leiber and Stoller connection...this is possible, ...

Walk on By
Ive been subliminally thinking about Burt/Dionne record Walk On By.....thinking that Burt might have taken his inspiration musically from Take 5 by Dave Bruckeck, whom Burt admired...
it kind of loosely follows the harmonic scheme for a bit....Any thoughts?

Burt's Top 3 songs of all time(I know it's subjective)
Just curious, if I could get a list of what people think are Burt's top 3 songs of all time..I know this is ridiculously hard.....but if some of you could mention what you feel to be Burt's best, and any lyricist that Burt wrote with is game. I realize that it's all subjective. I would choose: 1. Th...

Re: On My Own: sublime or turkey
I know as a songwriter(not famous) I have written some things in hindsight that turn out to be 'not so great"(to me)..and I understand that when people criticize, that they don't realize how difficult it is to write...but I'm not big on this song.....

Re: Who were The Five Blobs?
Thanks for the information on the "Five BLobs"...I have read elsewhere that it was Bernie Nee overdubbing his voice several times....I'm sure the sax player on the record was a famous
session musician...Anyway, cool record!

Re: Burt Bacharach/ David collabs with other Brill composers
Regarding Bob Hilliard, I used to know his wife, and she was based in Hollywood. She said that Burt would come up to their Curson Terrace home and write around the enclosed pool(I was up there a few times) So I'm thinking that at least part of the Bacharach Hilliard years were spent when Burt was vi...
