One of the best versions is none other than ex-Raider Mark Lindsay.

Re: R.I.P.—Tony Bennett
Tony was one of the first people to record a Burt/Hal Song.. B side to "Firefly" "The Night That Heaven Fell" another one of those exploitation songs not used in the film, but created to promote the film - not a great song, but a very good arrangement by genius Ray Ellis

Jim Dixon,
Thanks for that lead sheet. It helps me figure out what I was doing wrong...Using the lead line from it, it would not be hard to rectify the mistakes I made on the sketch for Renee

Re: Nikki Sheet Music (For Piano & Violin)
Renee You are welcome I think the last part the ending on the vln sketch should be an octave higher..i quickly sketched out what I could. When you get your published version you can iron out the wrinkles..as some of the time signatures etc may not be entirely accurate but its a start! I am delighted...

Re: Another great song that sounds like Bacharach
I might as well put my 2 cents in.. A very nice tune from "Billy J. Kramer" done in Jan '65 written by one of Elvis's writers, Bill Giant, along with Kenny Lynch and Clive Westlake..the "Bacharachian" sounding tune "It's Gotta Last Forever" I enjoy this record.

Re: Nikki Sheet Music (For Piano & Violin)
Renee, Another thing you could do is write or phone the publisher, tell them you are studyng music, and cant find the tune, and could you get a photocopy of the song for study purposes. This wont be the original violin part, but will help guide you with the tune. Here is the publisher for Nikki: New ...

Re: Nikki Sheet Music (For Piano & Violin)
Yw Renee.. Yes, the violin part exists alright in the stash of the "Bacharach music library" as possessed by his family...hopefully someday this material will find its way to a college library..id like to see some of these scores to "see how he did it!" He was a masterful arrange...

Re: Nikki Sheet Music (For Piano & Violin)
Renee, A friend alerted me to your post and asked if i could advise...Im afraid the orchestra score/parts for this tune are not available...there are "other" arrangers who may have scored this for concert band or community orchestras...you might check that on the web with "sheet music...

Agreed Paul! With the exception of the Promises stuff..by that time the piano-cond pts were out there for reference...and these tunes were a lot more accurately portrayed.

Re: Garage sale treasure !
Blair, Thank you for your response...The lead sheets(which helped the piano arranger) i think were done by Burts NY copyist "Wedo's"who wrote them down from Burts hand written lead line sketch. I have a copy of a couple of these...then they were "done up" by the copyist... There ...
