Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)

One of the YouTube commenters wrote " It goes to prove Bacharach's determination was based on vision and a well-deserved strong belief in you."

Thanks for your take on the concert. By the way, according to Amazon the book will be released May 7. Their description reads "offers a frank and riveting account of his unparalleled life ... candid and emotional".

Re: New concert dates

It doesn’t seem that long ago Burt Bacharach and band performed at the Keswick Theater in Glenside Pa, a charming suburb of Phila, a venue that seats 1300. That evening Burt even conducted a Q&A session post concert. A few days afterward someone remarked on this forum upon arriving he encountere...

Re: Herb Alpert on "This Girl's in Love With You"

Great story. I always thought there was a tie between Burt Bacharach and Herb Alpert. Re: HA&TTB They became a hit when I was a sophomore in high school. I actually thought they were a Latino group from south of the border. LOL. What a revelation it was when I learned who Herb Alpert is. That wa...

Windows of the World / YouTube Take

“Dionne Warwick calls The Windows of the World my favorite song that they've ever written (referring to Bacharach/David) A strong statement to be sure but understandable; it's one of Burt Bacharach's most sweet and aching melodies, containing one of Hal David's most direct, political statements. &qu...

Re: Dory Previn dead at 86

The enchanting “Come Saturday Morning”. In my opinion on of the most beautifully written songs of the late sixties. Few songs captured the seasons for this 19 year old growing up in the northeast like this one by a group from Plainfield New Jersey.

Re: "I still have songs to write," says Burt Bacharach

A great read. Much in the way Marc Myers writes of Burt Bacharach "he remains one of America's most prolific....." Marc in his own right manages to produce great reads each and every day on his website

Re: Put Your Youtube.com Links Here! (if you want)

Much in the same way Burt Bacharach's music touches me, my parents took me with them to see this in 1955. Even though I was only a kid at the time this scene in particular really touched me and still does
