Nana Mouskouri sings two Bacharach songs in the eary sixties in french. "T´en va pas comme ca" and "La place vide"

I generally like Nana and one only can admire her amazing career selling more than 250 million records worldwide. I think after Madonna she is still the second biggest selling female artist of all time.

But to me these two tracks here are just plain awful. And they serve as a reminder of how lucky Burt and Hal were to have found Dionne as their primary interpreter. Where Dionne strikes a perfect balance between passion and control, Nana just totally loses it.

This is very true GehVorbei, because Dionne ist the best singer for Bacharach / David tunes. When you hear the tunes you hear that very difficult for Nana to sing it!!!!!

But I like the language and I think when Dionne would sing it in french the songs were breathless and very perfect and totally professional :wink:
