Hello, is it true that Burt Bacharach once hired a studiosession-singer called Jerry Landis to demo for him?
It is said he did -at least- 10 songs. I would like to know which songs and when were they recorded, where, etc.
Jerry Landis became much later famous under his real name Paul Simon.
Thanks

I looked like crazy on the internet for this, but I couldn't find anything specific. However, in 1962, Jerry Landis (Paul Simon) recorded a song entilted "Lisa". Burt and Hal wrote a song called Lisa.
Check out this page which supplies a great chronology of Paul Simon (including all his other names):

Well that Lisa's another part of his career. He wrote a lot of teeny-songs in those days.
But it seemd some 10 demo's he was asked to sing for BB. Paul confirmed it an interview if I remember well.

I have been doing some digging and here are some Hal David songs Paul recorded:
The lipstick on your lips (Hal David & Sherman Edwards) (rec. July 5th 1960)
Frame without a picture (same as above) (rec. Sept 27th 1960)
Bigger and better things (same as above) (rec. Oct 5th 1960)
The people in the story (Hal David) (rec. Dec. 5th 1960)
No trace though of Burt Bacharach so far.

sounds like a movie thing.
I will be on the lookout for this on the web now, as I am curious.
