Gerald Goffin is the great Gerry Goffin. He was married to Carol King and co-wrote so many of her songs. He also wrote with the great Michael Masser... and the greatest of all -- our Burt. I didn't know he had written with Burt until just now.

I have the CD "Love Talk" that this is from. There's also another song "I Just Don't Know What To Do" which appears on that CD which was written by the Maestro. I don't remember the lyricist's name but it too is a great song!

I think the lyricist is Carole Bayer Sager.....and you're right, it's a truly great song !
Russell Thompkins Jr's voice is a thing of wonder !
