Wonderful song and wonderful singer! Do you remember the song "Street Life"? That was Randy Crawford. A great singer for sure. I wonder how she found this song?

I was sure Burt had written this song when I first heard it, but (if memory serves) it`s a Lalo Schifrin composition.
Randy Crawford recorded it in the mid - eighties for the soundtrack to a so-so movie called The Competition.

After her suicide attempt in 2004 or 2005 Joe Sample of the Crusaders sort of picked her up professionally and they did some tours here and put out two albums together. There is a great sparse 2006 live version of "One Day I'll Fly Away" here:
