It would be really nice to hear a 21st Century tune composed by Bacharach/David and sung by Dionne. If that would never happen, the last tune was "Sunny Weather Lover" from 1993 AND Dionne's last Bacharach-written tune was "Captives of The Heart" from 1994, if I'm not mistaken. Please correct me if I'm wrong with this info.

While it's not a 21st century tune, I think "On My Way," from the film, "Isn't She Great?" was a later tune, written by Burt and Hal for Dionne in 1997 or 1998. She sings it on the sound track for the CD.

Yes Steve, that was the last one that BB/HD/DW did together from 1999. There's two (2) versions of it on the soundtrack, the original and an "extended" reprise titled "The Book Tour-On My Way-Reprise". Another Burt/Hal composition also appears on the soundtrack titled "Open Your Heart" sung beautifully by Vanessa Williams. I love the entire soundtrack especially since it was recorded, mixed, and mastered digitally (DDD-Spars code). The instrumentals are (IMOH) the best that Burt has ever written! Long live the CD!

Why was this song, from "Casino Royale", not on the soundtrack? I thought the only vocals were the title track and "The Look of Love". This version (is there any other?) is by Roland Shaw:
"Let The Love Come Through"

Today is the first time I have ever seen this on YouTube. To me, it`s at once a very characteristic and uncharacteristic Bacharach melody. I loved it the first time I heard it but can understand why some may have shrugged. It`s slinky, sexy, different: Libby Titus doing "in Tune" from the "Together?" soundtrack:

Thanks Rio for posting that fabulous footage of Burt and Dionne recording Loneliness Remembers. Brilliant! I absolutely adore that song and the footage gives us a real insight into their special relationship .. she reads him instinctively and interprets his ideas effortlessly. It is sad that it ground to a halt over Lost Horizon .. like B2B, Lost Horizon was sadly lost on me!

Much in the same way Burt Bacharach's music touches me, my parents took me with them to see this in 1955. Even though I was only a kid at the time this scene in particular really touched me and still does

Talking about parents, movies, and powerful scenes with music...

My dad invited me to watch this movie in bed, between him and my mom. It was being shown after midnight on TV. They both fell asleep, but I didn't know that; I couldn't bring myself to look at them, as I was extremely embarrassed.
The beautiful music and those scenes had a big impact on me.

Thanks, "blue"! It's so great to see the great Hal David get honored in this way. So good to see Hal, Burt and Dionne together, too. Music would never have been the same without this triumvirate! I know how much they have meant in my life.

I`d like to interrupt my own customary crabbing to aver how heartwarming it is to see all these people again. Jackie and Lani look particularly good.
