a new twist on an old fave by Burt & Hal ~

Post by T.C & SGB »

Howdy, folks..!
I'm new to this forum and a huge fan... I once met & worked for Burt in Miami many moons ago. Most recently, I revised (with a little help from my friends) lyrics to one of his more popular melodies (also giving a nod to the great Hal David) - so lend us your ears and please, share if you'd care to... we'd love your feedback! ;)

Howdy to you!
I usually enjoy a little political humor, but this forum is not for that purpose. Worse yet you have taken liberties with one of Mr. Bacharach and Mr. David's favorite compositions and even worse than that is that IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY even to those of us who are not planning to vote for Mr.Romney. Nothing personal but I think I understand why it was only "ONCE' that you worked with Mr. Bacharach in Miami.

Hey! :P Thanx for that candid retort, Maestrofan... and sorry to disappoint, I am not sure why anyone might presume the song to be funny based on what I'd written (above) but my friends and I were hoping to make a few genuine statements by reminding folks of the issues and candidates they're voting for... I've often been told that people have short political memories ~ so, at the risk of offending a few fans, I thought Burt's memorable music might bring those points home... well, that was our intention ~ however, your comments are very much appreciated, none the less... thank you for being so honest! ;)

Hey T.C & SGB

Did not mean to sound nasty toward a fellow "huge fan" I am sure your post was well intentioned It's just that there has been so much mudslinging, misinformation and pettiness on both sides of this campaign. Thankfully we are close to having this behind us. Hopefully the electorate will make the right choice and we can all get behind the winner and work to resolve our current problems.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM and I look forward to your participation in our discussions.

Thanx for the toasty, warm reception and sorry for ruffling yer feathers... ;)
My friends in Starland Gopher Band won't chance your disapproval again with another song parody... so, hopefully this popular "song of celebration" might be more to your liking ~ enjoy..!
