Adios Dave Brubeck

Yes, I heard this sadness on the news about an hour ago. What a true giant Brubeck was. Would you agree with me that Dave Brubeck was as much responsible as any other single jazz musician for bringing jazz to the masses in America?

When President Obama honored Mr. Brubeck a number of years ago, the President told the story about how, when his father visited him when he was a youngster living in Hawaii, his father took him to his first jazz concert -- and it was to see Dave Brubeck. It's a sad day for jazz -- make that MUSIC -- fans all over the world.

As Darius Milhaud was a wonderful genius for composing music and train talented students.

Brubeck and Bacharach are two examples!

RIP Dave Brubeck, a msuician that Burt admired very much...listen to What's NEW Pussycat soundtrack, and you will hear a lot of Brubeck in a cut or 2...

Yes Steveo, they did have a lot in common musically...both risktakers, both ignored traditional rules of songwriting to create greatness.
