Well, Blue, you were either the only member here who saw any of JW`s performances or the only one not underwhelmed by them.
The silence is, sadly, not unexpected. As I noted previously, JW has been coasting too long.
He`s not the only one, of course. Todd Rundgren just released a dog. Burt will never record again. Hey, we`re all becoming old and the music is dying with us.

I begged the powers that be (were, i.e. Robin Siegel) to release this performance as an album but apart from an acknowledgement that a quality tape existed, I was cold-shouldered and, obviously, it has never been issued.
No one, then or now, at JW HQ has a clue as to how to generate interest or re-ignite his fan base.

Fans of JW`s early albums certainly know of his sister Susan`s vocal contributions. They may not know of her `76 album, Bye Bye, Pretty Baby. It`s a lovely collection of covers (not of JW songs) and two originals. It`s reported to be available on i-tunes and worth the listen if only for the heart-breakingly lovely Side One closer, "Fingers."
When I had the temerity to suggest that her brother had, at the least, "helped" the then-teen with the melody, I was assured by those who knew, that she composed it herself. Her decision to live a domestic life rather than pursue a music career surely robbed us of a genuine talent.

I may have posted this years ago, but since nothing else is going on and this topic seems to be unaccountably popular, here`s "That`s All I`ve Got to Say" from the un-heard Last Unicorn OST sung here by (not Jeff Bridges as suggested in a YT comment) but by Robert Klein (!) Yes, THAT Robert Klein. Go figure. It`s still one of JW`s most beautiful songs and this is surely better than the typically anti-septic treatment given by Art Garfunkel.

The discussion here on JW inspired me to pull out my Thelma Houston "Sunshower" CD (her 1969 debut album produced by JW) .... Still love it - and once again a big "Thank you". ...... Also still enjoy the Glen Campbell - JW recordings!

Grab these! JW is going to be mighty pissed and may try to have them removed (although I`m just guessing about this).

Yes, these collections of early Webb songs are pretty amazing and contain titles that went on to be recorded by the likes of Glen Campbell, Richard Harris, Thelma Houston, 5th Dimension and Frank Sinatra, namely, 'Honey Come Back', 'Just Another Piece of Paper', 'Name of my Sorrow', 'Lovers Such as I', 'Dancing Girl', 'If I'd been Born a Different Man', 'First Hymn From Grand Terrace', 'When it Was Done', 'Beth', 'This is Where I Came In', 'Pattern People', 'Whatever Happened to Christmas' and 'In Parenthesis'.

I just discovered this deal on Amazon:
Four out of five ain`t bad. I agree with the sole reviewer that the George Martin produced El Mirage is an over-polished misfire, but for those missing the the three Reprise albums and `74`s great Land`s End for Asylum: this is a steal.
