Just heard that keyboardist and composer Lyle Mays has passed away. Well known for his long association with guitarist Pat Metheny, here's a live performance by the pair of one of their joint compositions, the typically tranquil 'September 15th'.

Probably the first time I became aware of Pat Metheny and his work with Lyle Mays was when I heard the hauntingly attractive piece called 'James' in the early 80s. This is still probably their most famous tune and it features brilliant solos by both of them:
