I think many ppl listening to this wont understand the context. This is for the Joker movie and Lady Gaga is playing the Harley Quinn character. The movie is dark, her role is dark and the song is dark . Her singing sounds slightly demented because she is playing the role of a mental asylum patient. I am sure the song will be accompanied with emotion provoking vignettes in the movie(flashbacks of better times etc).
