Ununsual topic: Chicago's 'Beginnings'

Post by scotsgreg »

Hi, everyone. Having been an occasional contributor around these parts lo about 10 years (one of my late-90s posts here on the death of Dusty Springfield was actually excerpted for a national magazine's eulogy!) and knowing that a number of my fellow Bacharach compatriots are likewise early-1970s Chicago fans, I have a request. I'm looking for an MP3 of the 1971 radio edit of the top-10 Chicago single, 'Beginnings.' I'm sure a number of you remember it. It's about 3:00 long (or less than 1/2 the length of the album track) and an excellent distillation of the hookiest parts of the song. Anyhow, I need it for a mix I'm putting together for my parents' wedding anniversary (they no longer have the patience for a 7:00 jammin' tag!) I know it's not available commercially in any greatest hits packages, so if you stumble across it, I'd love it if you could pass along how I might find it…thanks!
