All good and well, thanks, but the sound quality on that clip makes it almost unlistenable!!

Oh C’mon, I think you are exaggerating! The sample is very perceptible indeed!
I mean, it may be distorted as it was recorded with a video camera, but, at least one can tell the key that the song is in, the chords being used, time signature, etc.
The real value is that if it wasn’t for my sample, you would have not heard it at all ;)
Every single comment I’ve had so far has been of appreciation and delight
But thanks for your comment anyhow....

Re new 'song'

Post by pljms »

I hate to be pedantic but for 'song' read instrumental. I actually think the sound quality is surprisingly good. As for the 3 mins of music featured on the file, well, it definitely sounds like Burt, what more can one say?

Hi,
I had something like this...where I had a copy of a big band vocal musical arrangement(the sheet music) - and needed to hear what it sounded like..It was from an old tv show, so i contacted a fan of the show, and she had a copy of it, but it was done on a cassette off the tv and was a poor copy...
Well, when i received it thru the mail, yes, I was disappointed that the dynamic range and quality was bad. At the same time, I was able
to hear the tempo, the harmony, and how the darn thing sounded, so to
speak.
It aided me greatly, and using my imagination, and the chart, I think I know how it would sound with a quality recording.
I can't begin to tell you how many demos I've heard that were poor quality, yet the music, chords, and lyrics are there...and was able to flesh out the tune from it...
So, although not having listened to this Burt clip yet, I think major 7th's recording has merit...

"Potted Opinion"

Post by blueonblue »

Hi,
Here's my potted opinion.......for what it's worth ?
I really enjoyed the instrumental and found it very "listenable" !!!
Wonderful solo violin, reminds me of Ennio Morricone's beautiful music,
the endings very reminiscent of Burt's "New York Lady" from his much
underrated "Woman" album.
It certainly "whets the appetite" for it's inclusion on Burt's eagerly awaited
"Live" album !!!
Major7thChordsLover.....thanks for sharing.....very grateful !!! :D

:D Bonjour all;

I saw Dionne Warwick in New Jersey last Saturday, March 1, 2008.

After the show, I spoke with Rob Shrock (doing double duty that night).

Rob told me that the CD should be out in a month or 2! From what I gather from Rob, he has a hand in the finish product! So, it will be great to hear Burt's new song, 'For The Children' and the rest of the Sidney Concert! 8)
Take care;

Vincent
