Never heard of Julie London before. I like her Bossa Nova type arrangement and her voice is very expressive in inflection and texture while her delivery is extremely subtle. A beautiful song should be able to sound good in different arrangements and even genres. Stoned Soul Picnic passes that test.grooverider wrote:Hi geoff85

Julie London:
Singer/actor, both films and t.v. primarily in the 50's and 60's. In the 70's she was on "Emergency", a popular tv show in US, married first to Jack Webb ("Dragnet") and then to Bobby Troup ("Route 66"). Her biggest hit, "Cry Me A River", written by the very talented Arthur Hamilton, released in 1955. "Stoned Soul Picnic" is from her last album ("Yummy, Yummy, Yummy") in 1969. She passed in 2000.
