Harris` version was the first and appeared on the Tramp Shining album written, arranged and produced by JW (as was its successor, The Yard Went On Forever).
These are sacred recordings to some fans who have never got past the soaring, aching romanticism epitomized by these post-adolescent songs. They are, melodically, superb but lyrically...well, post adolescent. JW has referred to them as his "bottom drawer material." I think that`s a bit harsh but imagine your teen love letters or diary entries (should such have been written) still being publicly circulated today and you can understand his position.
As I`ve stated before, I never want to hear this song again.
