Thanks for posting, Blue. BB definitely looks more comfortable doing this sort of thing than in the past.
Re the West End transfer, the Criterion Theatre is right next to one of London's most iconic landmarks, the Eros Fountain in Piccadilly, where thousands of people gather every day. If the show struggles for audiences there, which I can't imagine being the case, it would struggle anywhere.

A very positive review from this morning's Daily Telegraph of last night's official opening of the West End transfer:

As I've expressed n past posts, it is really a shame that Burt doesn't generate this kind of excitement and affection in his own country. Sad

Interview with Graham Norton broadcast this morning on BBC Radio 2 but recorded a month ago before BB flew off to Australia. He talks about the Close to You show and, wait for it, Walk Little Dolly!

"Walk, Little Dolly" was a major early favorite. Who didn`t love it?

I think this review reflects what a lot of Bacharach purists would feel about the Close to You, Bacharach Reimagined show. Includes a nice photo of Bacharach accepting the applause from the opening night's audience from the front row of the circle, alongside his wife, son and singer Tom Jones:

See the message below taken from the Close to You, Bacharach Reimagined website after the final performance of the show on the evening of Valentine's Day:
"So after 8 months and over 200 magical shows we've taken our last bow. Thank you London- what a ride it's been!"

Although I liked the show when I saw it at the Chocolate Factory, I didn't like it enough to want to see it again after its West End transfer. However, it's a shame it has had to close, especially as the Carole King tribute show 'Beautiful' seems set to run and run.
