Bonjour BB4LIFE;

Hey, these young people are on to something.

I enjoyed it very much. It's not easy play Burt's musics! And Nikki is one of my top 5 Instrumental of all time! Growing up I probably wore out 3 or 4 of the records.

Take care mon ami.

Vincent

Wow! A whole bunch of the posts above this one have links to youtube videos that have been removed due to "use violation".

I hope this link will last for a while. This is my favorite version of the song (it's from "Promises, Promises"). Since "Promises, Promises" is coming back to Broadway soon, maybe iother singers will start recording it. It's really a classic. Burt and Hal probably have scratched their head so many times over the years wondering why this song didn't catch on. I know I have.

Blue: Great! Jumps right at you. Excellent sound quality. Thanks.

This is Marie, Marie, by Gilbert Becaud, with Burt's highly praised arrangement.

I only recently discovered this tune (click HERE) which was later also recorded by Adam Faith (click HERE). Some pretty unusual chord changes for 1959. :mrgreen:

I discovered this song on an old Dusty Springfield LP years ago and I was sure its authors were trying to co-opt Burt's musical language. It has finally turned up on YouTube. See what you think. It's one of Dusty's best recordings, in my view.

Sure enough -- this one was removed, too. A note to the record company who removed it: How would anyone know that your product exists (since this is a very old song) if it isn't presented to the world so that people would know it exists? You can't go and buy something if you don't know it exists, is my point. A guess an archeologist will have to find these great old songs sometime in the future.
