Well, I applaud your desire to bring Burt's great music to more people by adding words, but I would caution you that it is illegal to change/adapt, add to or take away from someone else's intellectual or artistic property. Not that I think this site is a place where people would want to do that, but Burt himself may not appreciate people altering or adding to his already published music and then posting it on a public site. Just a little friendly advice.

Extraordinary footage, Blue. Because of the reference to 'Yakety-Yak' being at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 at the time I've calculated that this was from April or May 1958, so it must have been the US public's first sighting of Bacharach on TV. What's interesting is that after this TV show it would be only one or two years before Bacharach was writing songs with Norman Gimbel ('Deeply' etc, etc) but almost 45 years before he would write with Jerry Lieber ('Falling Out of Love').

Thanks Sara D,
Incidentally, Norman Gimbel also co-wrote two songs on Burt's "Futures" album
"Where Are You" and "When You Bring Your Sweet Love To Me".....

Bonjour Blue;

Thanks for the clip!

I have not seen this clip of a young Burt in a long time. By the way I have this clip on VHS. In addition, I do have the, "Sound Of Bacharach" also on VHS. One day when I get a moment I will have to convert these 2 shows and send them to you!

Take care mon ami.

Vincent

Wow!! Thanks, blue, for this one. What an historic clip! I guess it was from circa 1958. Amazing!

Here's a link (but not YouTube) I just discovered. It's a one-hour concert by Dusty Springfield at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The video is good resolution and sound recording excellent. I'm watching it now as I'm typing. Looks and sounds great.
