The Burt Bacharach Discussion Forum

I saw Burt tonight on the Chris Botti special. I had assumed they would do the stuff from "At This Time" to which Chris contributed. Instead, they did a version of "The Look of Love" with Paula Cole singing. It was OK; but more interesting, I thought, was Chris's remark at the end. As Burt was leaving the stage, Chris called out for Burt to stick around. He then spoke to the audience and said, not only has Burt written all these amazing songs, but musicians love Burt Bacharach. To combine elements of popuplar appeal and the esteem of musicians puts him in the crew of about 3 or 4 people, Chris said. I thought it was a terrific tribute to a musician par excellence! Brave Burt!

I wonder if the Grammy Awards have a "Lifetime Achievment Award"...like the Oscars have every year.
If so....Burt should definetly be honored one.
