Pizz strings- Are You There

One of our members ,Janet..has asked me about the pizzicato strings..
a rapid fill passage on "Are You There"(1967 Burt version,i think)she wants to know how it was executed...in a sequence of alternating violin players, recorded half speed, or just played by the string players by virtue of their skill ??...
I know Burt chose not to play this in concert over the years for whatever reason.
maybe Rob Schroek or someone can answer.....
