About: The 35th Annual Songwriter’s Hall of Fame Awards
The Songwriters Hall of Fame's annual induction ceremony celebrates the greatest songwriters and songs of all time. Legendary music producer Phil Ramone will once again produce the awards show with performers to be announced. This year's inductees include Charles Fox, Al Green, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Don McLean and songwriting duo Barrett Strong and Norman Whitfield.
Stevie Wonder will be this year’s recipient of the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award. The first ever Starlight Award will be presented to songwriter Rob Thomas. "What the World Needs Now Is Love," written by Hal David and Burt Bacharach, will be honored as the Towering Song (Dionne Warwick will perform the song). Neil Sedaka will be the recipient of the prestigious Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award.
