I have a 17 year old daughter with Asperger's and the news about Nikki has truly devastated me. People with Asperger's are truly the sweetest souls--so naive, childlike and very kind. It's a cruel disorder because these individuals look "normal" on the outside, but are treated badly by society because they don't "see" a disability. My daughter wants to have friends so badly and wants to be with people all of the time, and it breaks parents hearts when their children are treated as "weird" or bizarre. We feel our child's pain ten times worse than they do. I feel the pain of Mr. Bacharach and Ms. Dickinson, and may God bless you in this time of incredible sadness. This may be a gift to others with Asperger's in that society will learn more about this growing disorder and be kinder to these beautiful, gentle souls. I'm so very sorry for your loss and have been a huge fan of yours for many years. My heart breaks for you and I wish Nikki eternal peace for her beautiful and gentle spirit.
