He works like Burt!

Here is a quotation from tomorrow's New York Times article on the great composer Ennio Morricone.

"“He doesn’t have a piano in his studio,â€￾ said the director Barry Levinson, who commissioned Mr. Morricone for “Bugsy,â€￾ a soundtrack nominated for an Academy Award. “I always thought that with composers, you sit at the piano, and you try to find the melody. There’s no such thing with him. He hears a melody, and he writes it down. He hears the orchestration completely done.â€￾

This could describe Burt to a tee, I would imagine. I guess some great composers can do this. It all seems so remarkable and unbelievable to me. But I do love reading about this stuff.

I hope the following link works for you in case you want to read the whole article:

Hi "BB" and Steveo,
Just read that Ennio Morricone is to recieve an Oscar for "Lifetime
Achievement" at the Academy Awards next month.....long overdue !!!
This great composer as wrote film scores for over 400 films. been
nominated 5 times but has never won.
"Once Upon A Time In The West" ...."Days Of Heaven" "The Mission"
"The Good The Bad And The Ugly" and "Once Upon A Time In America"
among others, are incredible pieces of music !!!
I place him alongside Burt Bacharach as one of the greatest composers
of all time !!!

Well Done "Maestro" !!!
