Burt on the road again

Bacharach coming:

WHAT'S New Pussycat?: Burt Bacharach will perform in Brisbane in July.

The Queensland Orchestra executive director Michael Smith said Bacharach, 78, was a legend in the music industry who has notched up 48 Top 10 hits including nine No.1 songs.
"Burt is so retro he's 360 degrees cool," Mr Smith said. "He represents everything that was cool in the 1960s and '70s."

He said Bacharach, with back-up singers, would perform many of his top hits in a retrospective of his career.

His hits include What's New Pussycat, What the World Needs Now, Walk on By and Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head.

More recently he has been enjoying a resurgence in popularity, appearing in the Austin Powers movies, composing music for film soundtracks such as Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason and Alfie.

He was due to tour Australia this month, visiting Adelaide and Sydney, but cancelled the tour after he injured himself in a fall and his daughter Nikki, 40, committed suicide. He has rescheduled his Australian concert series for July.

He will perform with the Queensland Orchestra on July 6 at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Tickets go on sale on Monday from $82.20.
Take care;

Sorry but which song was composed by Bacharach on Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason ? Is it a cover of his songs?
