I can't believe that "I Cry Alone" never became a standard. Some things I just can't figure out and this is one of them. I'll bet you anything that Burt can't figure it out either.

My experience with Tommy Boyce....
In the late 60's Tommy Boyce(of songwriting team and performers Boyce and Hart) was recording at Western Studios in Hollywood...I was hanging around, and got to talk with this fascinating guy..He told me how he had a snapped neck when he first came out here and had problems with it....(I was going thru something similar, recently having been in a Hollywood car accident)
He was a very pleasant down to earth person, and we had a great chat..
The reason Im bringing this up is...............

a couple of nights ago on the repackaged "screen gems network"
they showed a latter day ""Bewitched" episode with Montgomery and Sergeant, whereby Serena, Samantha's sister, tried her hand at songwriting
Boyce and Hart were on the show playing themselves...and ended up doing her song...Liz. appearing as Dark haired Serena. She rocks out with a guitar and go go dances!
Right after that show aired, another Screen Gems Show "I Dream of JEannie was broadcast...witth the same guest characters in it...Liz Montgomery and Boyce and Hart appeared...these 2 shows must have been filmed roughly at the same time......
anyway in the 2nd episode PHIL SPECTOR appears as himself...in his record office....a very rare appearance! He auditions Boyce and Hart, as well as Liz (they are in a group together)
So if you ever get to see that episode, well it's a rare performance...
and they're in color!
